Only the transcript sends the sound, in short pieces that are not kept, and plain-words requests send a short description of the sound, never the sound itself.
Can I convert an MP4 video to MP3?
Yes. Drop the MP4 (or MOV or WebM) into Audio Kit and the sound is pulled out in seconds. Go to Save, choose MP3 and what it's for (Best quality, Podcast or Small file for email), and press Download. The file size is shown before you save. Videos up to 400 MB and 60 minutes open; the video itself is never uploaded.
How do I make an iPhone ringtone (.m4r)?
Open the song or recording in Audio Kit, select up to 30 seconds on the waveform, go to Save, pick Ringtone and M4A. Audio Kit keeps 30 seconds at most, makes it loud and clear, fades the end, and saves it as .m4r, the file iPhone ringtones use. For Android, pick MP3. M4A needs a current Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer.
Can I remove long silences from a recording automatically?
Yes. In Audio Kit's Edit tab, Long pauses finds every pause longer than the time you pick (half a second to 3 seconds), says how many there are and how much time they add up to, and Shorten them leaves a short natural gap in each. With a transcript, Shorten long pauses in the Words tab does the same, and Remove the ums and uhs cuts filler words.
How do I cut a part out of a song or recording?
Open the file in Audio Kit (it starts in Basic mode). Drag across the waveform over the part you don't want, adjust the white handles or type the exact Start and End (like 1:01.237), press Play selection to check it, then press Delete (or the Delete key). The rest closes up with a tiny automatic crossfade, so there's no click, and the cut is exact to the sample. Trim to this does the opposite and keeps only the selection. Undo puts it back. Then press Save and pick a format.
How do I put music under a voice recording so it gets quieter when I talk?
In Audio Kit, open the voice recording, then Add / Open → Music under it. Pick a music file (or one from your Graphics Library), set the music's volume and how far it dips while someone talks, and press Hear the mix. The music lowers by itself under every spoken part and comes back up in the gaps. Press Put it in; Undo takes it out again. Use only music you have the rights to.
Can I convert or clean up lots of audio files at once?
Yes. Audio Kit's Batch takes up to 50 files, runs a recipe (for example: trim silence, shorten pauses, remove noise, level to -16 LUFS) or a plain conversion on each, and downloads one ZIP. It all runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. Save your own recipe once in Recipes and pick it in Batch next time.
How do I add chapters, a title and cover art to a podcast MP3?
In Audio Kit, drop a marker (M) at each chapter start and name it with the pencil. In Save, open Title, artist & cover art, fill in the details and add a picture, then save as MP3. The title, artist, album, cover and chapters go inside the file. Chapters can also be downloaded as a YouTube description or a podcast chapters JSON file.
How do I get the audio out of a video?

How do I make a ringtone from a song?
Open the song in Audio Kit, drag across the waveform to select the part you want (up to 30 seconds), then go to Save, pick Ringtone and choose M4A for iPhone (it is saved as .m4r) or MP3 for Android. Ringtone keeps 30 seconds at most, makes it loud and clear, and fades the end so it doesn't stop suddenly. Use only music you have the rights to.
How do I level a podcast to -16 LUFS?
In Audio Kit's Edit tab, press Podcast (-16) under Leveling, or YouTube, Spotify (-14) for video. Audio Kit measures the loudness the standard way (LUFS), sets it, and keeps peaks safe so nothing distorts. The Save tab's Podcast choice also does this and saves one clear mono track. The editor's top line shows the loudness at any time.
Can I remove the vocals from a song?
For a stereo song, Audio Kit's Quick voice remover (in Clean up) takes out what sits in the middle of the mix, which is usually the lead voice, for a karaoke version. It is free and instant but rough on some songs, and it needs a stereo file. An AI Studio split into voice, drums, bass and the rest is shown in Audio Kit as not switched on yet.
