Contract Studio: proposals and contracts signed online, sealed with proof
Contract Studio is where you write a proposal, agreement, NDA, release, work order or change order and get it signed online by one or more people. Each signer agrees to sign electronically, confirms a one-time code sent to their email, and adopts a typed or drawn signature. When everyone has signed, aiKit seals the document into a PDF that ends with a Certificate of Completion: who signed, how they were identified, when, from which IP address and device, and SHA-256 fingerprints that prove nothing changed. Templates and assistant drafts are a starting point, not legal advice.
Contract Studio is one screen with three parts. On the left are your documents. The tiles at the top (All, Drafts, Out for signature, Completed, Declined / voided, and Need approval when something is waiting for you) are filters: press one and the list shows only those, with a Showing line and Show all to go back. The search box matches the title, the client, the signers and the number. Every document has its own address (?doc=…), so you can bookmark or share it with your team.
In the middle is the document itself. On a draft you edit it right on the page; Preview as signer shows exactly what your client will see. PDF opens the document as a PDF (a draft is marked DRAFT); a completed document shows Signed PDF instead. On the right are four tabs: Signers & send (Status once sent), Assistant, Audit trail and ∞ Next. On a phone the three parts become tabs at the bottom.
2
Starting a document
Try it with sample data: makes three documents for an invented bakery (a proposal ready to send, an agreement waiting for a signature, and one that both sides signed, sealed with its certificate). They're marked Sample and use example.com addresses, so nothing reaches a real person.
Templates: Proposal with pricing, Service agreement, Mutual NDA, Photo / model release, Work order, Change order, or a blank page. Your business name, email, phone and address fill in automatically; anything still unknown shows as a yellow blank like Client name, and sending waits until every blank is filled.
Upload your own PDF or Word file (up to 4 MB). A PDF is kept exactly as it is: the signer reads every page and signs on a signature page added after it, and the PDF's own fingerprint is part of what they agree to. A Word .docx becomes an editable document (headings, paragraphs, bold and bullet lists come across).
From a Quote Studio quote: pick a quote and press Make proposal. The quote's lines become the price table, add-ons become optional items your client can tick, and the customer becomes the client.
Describe it and the assistant drafts it: type a sentence like "a photo session agreement, $450, 50% deposit" and press Draft.
3
Editing on the page
Click any text to change it; **two stars** around words make them bold. Point at a block to see its buttons: move up, move down and remove. The small + between blocks adds a paragraph, heading, bullet list, price table, signature boxes, callout or divider. Everything saves as you go; the line under the title says Saving… and then Saved.
A price table has a row per item with its details, quantity and price, and an Optional box. Optional items are ones your client can tick on or off; ticked starts them as added. Below the rows set tax and a deposit percent and choose which signer picks the extras; the total updates as you type. A price left empty shows Price needed in yellow.
Signature boxes belong to one signer each. Each box is a signature, initials, text (like a printed name), a date (filled with the signing date, or one the signer picks), a checkbox, or Accept the price (a box that says the client accepts the total and deposit). Signature boxes are always required; you choose for the rest.
4
Signers and sending
Each role (Client, your business, or any you add with + Add a signer) gets a name and email. With In order on, the number beside each person is their turn: 1 signs first, then 2; the same number signs at the same time. The next person is invited the moment the one before signs.
Identity check: Email code (recommended) sends a six-digit code to the signer's email before they can sign; Private link only skips it for low-risk papers. The certificate shows which was used.
Link works for 7 to 90 days; Reminders lists the days after sending (for example 2, 5, 10). Only the newest due reminder goes out, to whoever's turn it is.
Ready to send? lists anything missing (a blank, a signer without a valid email, a role without a signature box). Send for signature freezes the document and takes its fingerprint. With Approval before sending turned on in settings, the button reads Ask for approval and the document waits under Need approval until you press Approve and send.
If email isn't set up for your account yet, nothing is emailed: open Status and press Copy link next to each signer, then send it yourself. Each link is private to one person.
5
Status, reminders, voiding
Status shows each signer: sent, opened, email confirmed, signed or declined, with times, and a meter of how many have signed.
Copy link copies that signer's link; Remind sends (or, with email off, copies) a reminder; New link makes a fresh link and stops the old one, for a link sent to the wrong place.
Void this document asks for a reason (signers see it) and stops every link. Make a corrected copy opens a new draft with the same signers. A declined or expired document offers the same.
Completed documents show Download signed PDF and Open certificate.
6
What the signer sees
A page with your logo and color that works on any phone. First the disclosure and a box to agree to electronic records and signatures. Then Confirm it's you: Email me a code, then the six-digit code. Then the document, with their own boxes outlined in color; a bar at the bottom shows how many required boxes are done and Next jumps to the next one. Adopt your signature lets them type or draw it and set initials, which fill every signature and initials box of theirs. Finish and sign shows the signature with the statement that it's their legal signature; Sign completes it. Decline to sign asks for a reason, which you see.
If it's not their turn yet, they can read the document and see who signs first. After signing they see who's left; when everyone has signed they can download the sealed PDF from the same link for 30 days.
7
Audit trail and the sealed PDF
The Audit trail tab lists every event (created, sent, link sent, opened, agreed to e-sign, code sent, wrong code, email confirmed, signed, declined, voided, sealed, downloaded) with who, when and the IP address. Each event is chained to the one before it with SHA-256, and the green Audit trail intact line confirms the chain checks out; changing or removing any past event would break it.
The fingerprints are: Document as sent (taken at Send; every signer signs against it and a signature made on anything else is refused), Signed document (the signed pages of the PDF) and Sealed PDF file (the whole final file). Anyone can drop a copy into aikit.ai/sign/verify: the file is checked on their device and only the fingerprint is compared, so an exact copy shows a match and anything changed shows no match.
8
Assistant
Ask for any change in plain words (the chips are only examples): add a clause, change the deposit, make it friendlier, add an optional line. The assistant edits the document, the reply lists each change, and anything it didn't do is listed first as Not done with the reason. A price that wasn't in your words, your quote or the document is set to $0.00 and called out, never guessed. Undo last change goes back one step at a time. Rate each answer with the thumbs; Send and fix it asks for a new version from your note. It works on drafts only and uses your account's AI allowance.
9
∞ Next and connections
Turn it into an invoice (signed proposals): copies the accepted lines, tax and agreed deposit, ready for the Invoices tool.
Track it on a Hub board: on any Hub card, Link aiKit work → Contract links the document; the card shows its status and a board rule can move it when it's signed.
Open the quote it came from, Save as a template, Make a copy for another client, and Announce it in an email (Email Studio).

Template library and filling it in from a sentence
Under Start a document, the chips switch between Most used and seven kinds of business: Events & food, Home & trades, Creative & media, Health, beauty & fitness, Professional services, Property & rentals, Print, promo & retail, and Any business. Each holds ready templates, such as a catering proposal, wedding vendor agreement, home improvement contract, maintenance plan, repair estimate authorization, commercial cleaning agreement, promotional products order, print job approval, agency project proposal, salon booth rental, photography contract, model release with minors, salon consent, fitness waiver, consulting agreement, statement of work, short-term rental agreement, custom order approval and more. Type the job into the box above the templates (for example "120 guests, June 13, $4,200, 30% deposit") before you pick one, and the assistant fills the template in for you; leave it empty to start from the template as is.

Review: risk check, plain English, clause library
Risk check runs instantly, with no AI: it lists what's missing for this kind of document (payment terms, cancellation, liability, change orders, governing law), one-sided wording (sole discretion, one-way indemnity, terms that change without notice, automatic renewal, broad waivers), missing prices, blanks and missing signature boxes, as Fix before sending, Worth a look, or Nice to have. Add a starting clause inserts a matching clause above the signature boxes.
Explain this document gives a short summary, what each part means in plain English, and other terms worth checking. It uses your AI allowance.
Clause library: about twenty plain-English clauses grouped by Money, Scope & changes, Cancelling & ending, Protection, Photos & content, and Disputes & law. Open one to read it, press Insert to add it. None of this is legal advice.
12
Comments, suggested changes, versions and compare
Comments tab, on a draft: Comment adds a note for your team on the whole document or one part. Suggest a change shows the current wording of the part you pick so you can rewrite it; Accept applies it (the old wording is saved as a version), Dismiss drops it.
When a signer presses Ask for a change on the signing page, their request appears here, highlighted, and you get notified. Nothing is signed or declined; fix the draft with Void and Make a corrected copy if needed.
Versions are saved before every assistant change, accepted suggestion and restore, and whenever you press Save this version. Compare opens a side-by-side view in the middle of the screen: the earlier version on the left, the current draft on the right, removed lines in red and added lines in green. Restore puts a version back.
13
Send to many people, walk-ins, and signing in person
Send → More ways to send → Send to many people: paste a name and email per line. Each person gets their own copy, with their name filled into the client blanks, their own private link, and their own sealed record. Copy each link or Download links (CSV).
Walk-in link & QR: one public address and QR code for this draft. A visitor types their name and email, confirms the code sent to that email, and signs their own copy. The uses count shows how many people used it; Turn off closes it at once.
Sign in person (on Status, for the signer whose turn it is): confirm they're with you and that you checked who they are, then hand over the device. They still agree and sign themselves; the certificate says their identity was confirmed in person by you.
14
Status board
Board (top left) shows every document by where it stands: Out for signature, Opened but not signed, Overdue (past your last reminder day, or expiring), Expiring in 3 days, Completed in the last 30 days, and Declined, expired or voided. Each tile filters the table below. Each row shows who has signed (green), opened (purple) or not yet, the days since sending, Remind, and Audit CSV. Remind all overdue reminds every overdue document at once; Export every audit trail downloads all events of all documents as one CSV.
15
Smart fields and filling from your clients
Any box except a signature can be set to show only if another box of the same signer is ticked, not ticked, or filled in (for example, Minor's full name only if I'm signing for someone under 18 is ticked). Hidden boxes aren't required and aren't saved.
Fill from your clients or a Hub project (top of Send): pick one and the client's name, company and email fill the blanks and the client signer; a Hub project also fills the project name.
Deposits: when a signed document has a deposit, the signer sees the amount when they finish, with a Pay the deposit button to the payment page you set in Settings (or a note that you'll send an invoice). ∞ Next → Bill the deposit prepares a one-line deposit invoice for the Invoices tool. aiKit never takes the payment.
16
Indstillinger
Look & brand: one or more businesses, each with name, email, phone, website, address, logo, brand color (with one-click swatches from your Brand Kit) and a document look: Modern, Classic or Bold. A live preview shows the result. Sent documents keep the look they were sent with.
How it works: signing in order, identity check, how long links work, reminder days, approval before sending, the deposit payment page, number prefix and next number, and how many years signed documents are kept (they can't be deleted sooner; Archive hides them). Who can send is the account owner.
Webhooks & API: endpoints that get signed POSTs when documents are sent, viewed, signed, declined, completed or voided, with Send test and a delivery log; and the API (an aiKit API key in the Authorization header) to list, read, create and send documents, download sealed PDFs, and subscribe to events from apps like Zapier.
Your templates: everything saved with Save as a template, with Delete.
