Writing Pack: ads, campaigns, sales letters, and press releases, with AI in the editor

The Writing Pack (/tools/writing, in Explore Kits under Marketing & content, and as a tab in Content Kit) writes the business pieces that sell and announce: ad copy and whole ad campaigns, sales letters and sales emails, and press releases. It writes in the voice you set in Brand Voice, takes its facts only from what you give it, and opens every draft in a full editor with AI built in, where every AI change is a suggestion you accept or reject. It is open to every signed-in account and uses your account's AI credits. This guide walks the home page, a draft's workspace, each writer, the editor, and the panels beside it.

The home page: writers and your drafts

Start something new shows the three writers (Ad copy and campaigns, Sales letter, Press release) and a Product descriptions card that opens Content Kit, where product descriptions are written. Writing for picks whose draft it is: My business, or any website you can edit. A draft made for a website is visible to that website's team; reviewers can read it but not change it.

Your drafts lists every draft you can see. The counts at the top (All, Drafts, Final, Starred) are filters. Search looks through titles and text; the other filters are writer, website, status (including Not written yet), a date range, and sort (newest, oldest, A to Z). Every filter is kept in the page address, so a filtered list survives a refresh and can be shared; Show all clears them. Trash lists drafts you deleted in the last 30 days, each with Restore.

A draft's workspace

Pressing a writer opens a new draft with its own address (/tools/writing?doc=…), so it reopens exactly as you left it. The workspace has three parts: Options on the left, the draft in the middle, and Chat, References, Checks, the writer's own panel, and Versions on the right. On a phone they are three tabs: Options, Draft, and Chat & more.

The top bar has the draft's name (click it to rename), the writer and website, and whether it is Saved. The star marks it to find later. Draft or Final sets its status; Final asks first if suggestions or [placeholders] are still open, and a press release stays a draft until every quote is approved. Save version saves a named version (for example "Sent to the client"). Copy copies the text with headings and bold for pasting into email or a document. Download gives Word (.doc), PDF (through your browser's print dialog), a web page (.html), Markdown, or plain text; open suggestions are left out of every copy and download. The … menu has Duplicate, Focus mode (just the draft), Save a named version, and Move to trash.

The draft saves itself about a second and a half after you stop typing, and when you leave the page. If the connection drops, the changes are kept on your device and offered back the next time you open the draft. If a teammate or another tab saved first, the bar says Changed elsewhere, with Load theirs or Keep mine.

The options every writer shares

Brand voice: Automatic uses the website's voice (on top of its client's), or your own with no website; you can pick any other saved voice you can see, or No brand voice. Tone for this piece adds up to three tones from 17 presets (Professional, Friendly, Persuasive, Urgent, and more) or the Brand Voice tones, plus one in your own words. Audience offers ten groups and your own. Language offers 30 languages, written naturally rather than word for word; US English is the default.

Keep it positive picks a rule set: Off, aiKit Positive (avoids words like "can't", "try", and "unfortunately", says what is possible, reframes problems as the next step, and stays confident without being cheesy), Gentle positive (no word bans), or a rule set you saved. Words that break the rules get a wavy underline in the draft and are listed under Checks. Edit or make rule sets opens your library.

Style directions are chips in four groups (Structure, Persuasion, Story, Search), plus directions you saved. Add-ons (sales letters and press releases) are extra pieces written with the main text in one go: 3 headline options, a search title and description, email subject lines, a social post, a text message version, a one-line summary, picture ideas with alt text, and your own. Search phrases are worked in naturally. Length is Short, Standard, Long, or an exact word count. Versions to write (sales letters) writes up to five versions, each from a different angle. Anything else the writer should know takes free notes.

Draft this for me sits beside the long boxes: it drafts that box from your business details (the website's Client File), your Brand Voice, your references, and your other answers, for you to read and edit. Options save themselves as you change them.

Your library holds saved add-ons, style directions, and Keep it positive rule sets. Each is just yours or shared with one website's team. A rule set is a list of rules: Avoid a word (with what to say instead), Always do, and Reframe examples (before and after). The presets are read-only; Copy and edit makes your own version.

Ad copy and campaigns

One set of ads writes one ad group for each platform you pick; A full campaign writes two to six ad groups, each one theme with its own keywords, negative keywords, and A/B angle (price, speed, trust, pain point, outcome, offer, or local), plus a campaign plan: structure, audience segments, which tests to run, a schedule and budget split (labeled as a suggestion unless you gave one), and a launch checklist.

Platforms and their limits: Google Search (up to 15 headlines of 30 characters, 4 descriptions of 90, two display paths of 15, sitelinks and callouts of 25), Performance Max (long headlines of 90), Facebook and Instagram feed (primary text 125, headlines 40, descriptions 30), Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok (ad text 100 and video hooks), LinkedIn (intro 150, headlines 70), and Microsoft Advertising. The limits are checked in code: a line that comes back too long is rewritten once, and anything still over is marked red.

Ad lines shows each ad group with its angle, every line in an editable box with a live character count, Google pinning (positions 1 to 3), Ad strength with what would raise it, a preview of the search ad or social card with your real text, and the keywords. CSV downloads: Google Ads Editor (also for Microsoft Advertising), keywords and negatives, and every line for any ad manager. The plan and a Check before you run these ads list (every claim the ads make) are in the editor below. Offer or price is used only if you fill it in; left empty, no ad mentions a price or discount.

5

Sales letter

Formats: a long sales page, a one-page letter, a sales email (with subject and preview lines), or an email sequence of 3 to 7 emails, each with its send day, subject, and preview. Structures: AIDA; Problem, agitate, solve; PAS with a story; Star, story, solution; Picture, promise, prove, push; or your own outline.

The offer comes only from what you enter: what's included and bonuses, price and payment options, a guarantee (left empty, the letter never promises one), and a real deadline (no fake countdowns or "only 3 left"). Doubts buyers have are each answered in the letter. Proof uses only real customer words you paste, and, with Use my published reviews on, the reviews you published in the Reviews tool, quoted exactly. With no proof, the letter leaves a [Add a real customer quote] slot. It never writes a testimonial.

The Swaps panel shows 3 other headlines, 3 other openings, and 2 other P.S. lines; Use this puts one into the draft as a suggestion. With more than one version written, tabs above the editor switch between them, and Keep the one showing drops the rest.

6

Press release

Kinds of news: launch, event, award, partnership, new hire or promotion, milestone, funding or expansion, community or charity, and a statement on an issue (careful tone, facts only, no guessing or blame). You give the news, the details, the dateline city, the release date, and an optional embargo; the release follows AP style: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (or the embargo line), headline, subhead, dateline lede, supporting paragraphs, quotes, about the company, media contact, and ###.

People to quote: up to three, with their title and what they'd want to say. aiKit drafts a quote for each, marked [QUOTE — needs approval] in the text. The Quotes panel lists every drafted quote with a box to tick once that person has approved their words; the release stays a draft until every box is ticked. The boilerplate, media contact, city, and people are remembered for your next release (per website).

Also write adds social posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, and X; a short pitch email to journalists with [Reporter's first name] slots; a media alert; a search title and description; and a distribution checklist. The Quotes panel also shows 3 other headline and subhead pairs to swap in.

7

The editor and its AI

The toolbar has undo and redo, text style (text and four heading levels), font size, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, text color, highlight, link, bullet and numbered lists, checklists, quote, table (with add and delete rows and columns), divider, picture (from your Graphics Library or uploaded, always with a description for screen readers), alignment, and find and replace. The bar at the bottom counts words and characters.

Select any text and an AI menu appears: Improve, Rewrite, Shorten, Expand, Make positive, Fix grammar, My voice (rewrites it in your Brand Voice), Tone, Translate, and Ask for anything (for example "add our hours"). Ctrl or ⌘ + J jumps to Ask. Type / at the start of a line for Continue writing, Write a paragraph about…, Add a list of…, Add a FAQ, Add a call to action, Write a headline, and the blocks (headings, lists, checklist, quote, table, divider, picture).

AI never changes your text silently. Its change shows as a suggestion: the old words struck through in red and the new ones highlighted in green. The bar above the draft counts open suggestions, with Accept and Reject for the one your cursor is in, Go to next, Accept all, and Reject all. Each one you accept is saved as a version. [Bracketed placeholders] are highlighted in orange: fill them in before you use the text.

8

Chat, references, checks, and versions

Chat: ask for changes in plain words ("make the opening punchier", "add a section on pricing", "use the brochure's warranty terms"). Changes come back as tracked suggestions in the draft, and the reply says what changed; questions get an answer in the chat. If text is selected, it goes with the message. On an empty draft, ask it to write the first draft. Accept or reject open suggestions before the next change, so changes never pile up.

References: add files (PDF, Word .docx, text, Markdown, HTML, or CSV; save spreadsheets as CSV first), pictures (JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF up to 4 MB, which the writer looks at), a web page address, or pasted notes. Up to 12 per draft. Each shows what aiKit read; switch one off to leave it out for a while, or remove it. The writer takes its facts from them and never invents more.

Checks: the Keep it positive list (each word links to where it is, with what to say instead, and Fix them with AI), the [placeholders] still to fill in, and readability (grade level, words a sentence, long sentences, and sentences that may be passive). Versions: every save and accepted change, with named versions at the top; View any version, Bring back one (the current text stays in the list), or Copy to start a new draft from it.
