Needs you and project groups — one list of everything waiting on you

Once you sign in, the sidebar has a Needs you item right under Home, and Projects lists every project grouped by client with a colored dot for where it stands. Needs you is one list of everything waiting on you, across every project and tool, so a question never gets lost inside one project.

Needs you in the sidebar

Needs you sits second in the sidebar, under Home. The number beside it is how many things are waiting on you right now; it is the same count Home shows in its Needs you today card, worked out the same way, so the two never disagree. On a phone, open the menu to reach it.

What counts as needing you: new requests from a website's forms, change requests waiting for your review, a client's chat message waiting for your reply, answers to review, draft questions not sent yet, a build that didn't finish or is waiting for you to start it, planned parts of a site not built yet, a site that has stopped answering, and in Printer's Helper and Customer Proofs, jobs that need your answer, jobs that didn't finish, customers who asked for changes and proofs ready to send.

The Needs you page

The page opens on Needs you. Three chips at the top switch the list and show their counts: Needs you, Waiting on others (questions and proofs you sent that haven't been answered yet, fixes waiting for your client to check, and domain setup still in progress), and Everything, which adds what aiKit is working on right now, such as a build in progress. On a phone the same chips read Needs you, Waiting and All.

Items are grouped by project; things that belong to a tool rather than a project (a Printer's Helper job, for example) are grouped under that tool. The groups with the most waiting on you come first. A project with one item shows the client and project name in small capitals above it; a project with several gets a heading with the client above the project name. Click a project's name to open the project. The dot on each chip matches the sidebar: amber for Needs you, blue for Waiting.

Every item says exactly what is waiting (for example "Waiting for you to review 2 change requests") and has one button that opens the exact place to answer it: the project's Requests, Feedback or Questions tab, the chat, or the job list already filtered to those jobs. If a project is waiting on something no other item covers (a build waiting for you to start it, planned parts not built yet, a site that stopped answering), the project's own line is listed, so nothing is left out. Home's Needs you today card lists the same items.

Only this project, beside the heading of a project with several items, narrows the list to that project. A bar then says Showing: <project> with Show all → to go back. The chip you pick and the project are kept in the page address, so a filtered view survives a refresh and can be shared with a teammate who has the same access.

When nothing is waiting, the page says You're all caught up.

Project groups in the sidebar

Under Projects, every project you can see is listed by client: one heading per client (projects with no client sit under Your projects, last). Click a client heading to fold or open it; the number in amber beside a heading is how many of its projects need you. Groups start open when you have 8 projects or fewer, when they hold the project you're on, or when something in them needs you. Your choice is remembered on this device.

Each project has a dot: amber means it needs you, blue means it's working or waiting on someone else, green means nothing is waiting. Hover a project (or point a screen reader at it) to hear which. Click the name to open the project.

The star beside a project pins it to a Pinned group at the top of Projects, so the ones you use every day are one click away. Click the star again to unpin. Pins are kept on this device for now.
