Reporting a problem, and following what happens to it

If something in aiKit doesn't work the way you expect, tell us from the page you're on. Report a problem opens a short form that sends what you write, an optional picture of the screen, and the details we need to find it (the page, your browser, your account, and the time). You can follow every report you sent under Your reports. This guide walks through the form, Your reports, and, for aiKit admins, the Problem reports inbox and its Fix with AI button.

Where the Report a problem button is

  • Signed in: at the top of every page, next to the light/dark switch. On wide screens it reads Report a problem; on smaller screens it is a flag icon with the same name.
  • On the public website: at the bottom of every page, in the line that starts Already using aiKit?, after Something not working?
  • On the Connect page: inside the Stuck? Ask here panel, as Something on this page broken? Report a problem.

The form, field by field

What happened? is the only thing you have to fill in. Say what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead, for example "I pressed Save on my shop profile and nothing happened. I expected a saved message." The Speak button next to the label lets you dictate instead of typing (in browsers that support it); press Stop when you're done.

Screenshot (optional): press Add a picture of the screen to pick a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image, or paste one straight into the form. Large pictures are made smaller in your browser before sending; the limit is 2 MB. Remove takes it off again.

Your email (optional) shows only when you aren't signed in, so we can tell you when it's fixed. Signed in, your account is attached for you.

Sent with your report opens to show exactly what goes along: the page address, your browser, your account (or Not signed in), and the time. Nothing else from your screen or account is sent.

Send report sends it. You'll see Thanks. Report #12 is in. (with your report's number) and, when signed in, a See your report button. Cancel, the X, the Escape key, or a click outside the form closes it without sending.

Your reports

Your reports (Settings → Your reports, or the See your report button after sending) lists every report you sent, newest first, each with its number, your words, and a status. Open one to see what you sent, your screenshot, and a status line in plain words: Received, We're looking into it, A fix is being made, A fix is ready and being checked, Fixed, or Closed without a change. If someone on the aiKit team wrote back, their reply shows under Our reply. You only ever see your own reports.

For aiKit admins: the Problem reports inbox

Admins see Problem reports in the sidebar (with a count of new reports and fixes ready to review) and get an email for every new report, with a Fix with AI button that opens the report after signing in. The inbox has status buttons (Open, New, Fix ready to review, Fix in progress, Fix requested, Fixed, Won't fix, All) that each show exactly that slice, a search box (words, pages, emails, or a report number like #12), and a severity menu. The filter you pick stays in the page address, so it can be bookmarked or shared, and Show all open goes back.

Each report page shows What they said with the screenshot, Sent with it (page, browser, screen, account, time, version), and First look: a short summary written automatically when the report arrives, the likely area and files, and a severity (urgent, high, medium, or low). Notes holds private notes (they go along with Fix with AI) and a reply the person sees on their report.

For aiKit admins: Fix with AI, then Approve & publish

Fix with AI hands the report to the AI, which makes the change on a separate copy of aiKit and opens it for review with a preview. The report moves through Fix requested and Fix in progress; the page checks every 30 seconds while it's open, and Check now looks right away. When the change passes its checks and has a preview, the report says Fix ready to review, and admins get a second email with a Review & publish button.

Open the preview to look at the fix, then press Approve & publish and confirm. It is published only if its checks are green at that moment. Nothing goes live until an admin presses it. Won't fix closes a report instead, and Reopen brings it back.

Until the aiKit team connects the code repository, the report page shows a setup card with the steps instead of the Fix with AI button. Reports, first looks, and emails work either way.
