Tokens: one balance for AI in every tool

Tokens are how aiKit counts AI work. Every tool that uses AI (website edits and builds, Photo Studio, Scene Studio, Video Maker, Writing, Lessons, Decks, Music Maker, Content Kit and the rest) draws from one monthly balance on your account. Hosting, storage and everyday clicks never use tokens. You see tokens only, never cents or dollars.

Where you see your tokens

The top bar shows your balance as a small chip, for example 38 tokens, on every page. It turns amber when 20% or less is left and red when none are left; select it to open Tokens & usage. You also reach that page from the account menu (your initials) → Tokens & usage. Accounts on Unlimited don't show the chip.

Tokens & usage (Settings / Tokens & usage) shows This month: the big number left of your monthly amount with the renew date (for example 38 tokens left of 80 · renews Nov 1), a bar, Used this month, Left today, and any Extra this month. Left today is a daily share of the month (a fifth on most plans), so one busy day can't use the whole month; extra tokens raise it too.

2

When tokens renew

Your tokens renew once a month on your own day: the day your paid plan renews, or the day you signed up on Free (for example, a plan started on the 15th renews on the 15th). Unused tokens don't carry over. Before 2026-10-20 aiKit counted a rolling 30 days instead; now there is one clear date, shown on the page, in the chip's tooltip, and in any message that says you're out.

aiKit emails you once a month when 80% of your tokens are used, and once when they're all used, with the renew date and a Get more tokens button.

3

Getting more tokens

Get more tokens on the Tokens & usage page offers two ways. Extra tokens for this month: pick 50, 150 or 500, add a note if you like, and press Ask for these tokens. The aiKit team adds them, usually the same day, and you get an email; nothing is charged without your OK. They count on top of your plan until the month renews. Asking again before it's answered updates the same request (the button then reads Update my request). Buying token packs by card is coming; until then this request is how extra tokens are added.

A bigger plan: See plans opens Billing, where every plan comes with more tokens each month plus more team members, clients and storage. If you ask for extra tokens most months, a bigger plan is usually the better deal.

What uses tokens, and Standard vs Best

Every tool shows its token cost before you start (on the button or next to it), and a request that would go over what's left is stopped before anything runs, with a message that says how many it needs, how many are left, and when they renew. Typical amounts: a website's first build about 4 tokens (Standard) or 36 (Premium); a small website change about 1; a Music Maker click 4 (the Pro engine more); a Photo Studio picture a small part of a token.

Where a tool offers Standard and Best, Best uses a stronger AI model and more tokens; Standard is right for most everyday work. Website edits still also count against each client's free edits on the client's plan; those are shown on the Usage page and in the Assistant.
