What's new: new tools, modules and fixes, and what's coming next

What's new (/home/whats-new, in the sidebar under Explore Kits) is aiKit's bulletin board. It lists what was just added to aiKit (new tools, new modules for your sites, and fixes), newest first, and what the aiKit team is building next with a rough timing. A blue number next to What's new in the sidebar counts what arrived since you last opened it. You can also get an email when something new arrives by turning on Product updates in Settings.

The sidebar number

The blue number next to What's new counts the items that arrived since you last opened the page and that you haven't read. Opening the page clears the number. The items themselves stay marked New until you read them, so nothing slips past you.

When a planned item moves from Coming next to Just added, it counts as new again, even if you read it while it was planned.

Filter chips: All, Tools, Modules, Fixes

  • All shows everything, including general news from the aiKit team.
  • Tools shows apps you use in your workspace (like Logo Kit or Content Kit).
  • Modules shows features you add to a website or app you build (like a booking calendar or a quote form).
  • Fixes shows improvements to tools you already have.
  • Each chip shows how many items it holds. The chip you pick is saved in the address (?kind=tool), so a link opens the same view.
3

Just added

Each card shows a picture or the tool's icon, what kind of item it is, the date it arrived, a New badge if you haven't read it, the title, and a short summary in plain words.

  • Open (for example Open Logo Kit) takes you straight to the tool or page.
  • Read more shows the full details and the item's history (for example, the day it was planned and the day it was added). Opening it marks the item read.
  • Mark as read / Mark unread changes the New badge for you only.
  • Copy link copies the item's own address (/home/whats-new?item=…). Anyone signed in who opens it lands on that item, opened and outlined in blue, and it is marked read for them.
  • Mark all as read, at the top, clears every New badge at once.
4

Coming next

A short list of what the aiKit team is building next. Each item has a one-line reason it matters and a rough timing in a yellow tag, like Next up or This month. Timing is kept rough on purpose; a date appears only when the team is sure of it. Read more, Mark as read and Copy link work the same as in Just added.

5

Product update emails

Settings → Notifications has a Product updates row with two choices: Email me or Off. It starts on Off. With Email me, you get an email when the aiKit team sends out a new item from What's new.

Every product update email has a Stop product update emails link at the bottom. It opens a page with one button; pressing it turns Product updates off without signing in. Opening the link alone changes nothing. Emails about your own work, like proofs and password links, are not affected.

For the aiKit team: posting and editing (admins only)

aiKit admins see a New post button at the top and Edit, Email this to users and Delete under every item. Everyone else never sees these.

  • Where it goes: Just added or Coming next. Moving an item from Coming next to Just added keeps the same post, its link and its history, and notes the move with the date.
  • Kind: Tool, Module, Fix or News.
  • Title, Short summary (up to 280 characters) and More detail (shown under Read more and in the email; a blank line starts a new paragraph).
  • Rough timing (Coming next only): quick picks like This month, or your own words.
  • Tool: picks the icon and fills in the button link and words; you can change both.
  • Picture: upload one (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF; big photos are shrunk to fit) or pick one from your Graphics Library. Without one, the tool's icon shows.
  • Release date: a future date keeps the item hidden from everyone but admins until then (it shows a Shows <date> tag for admins).
  • Who sees it: Everyone, or Admins only for tools still in admin preview.
  • Delete asks once more, then removes the post for everyone.

For the aiKit team: Email this to users (admins only)

Email this to users builds the email from the post: the subject (New in aiKit: … or Coming soon to aiKit: …, which you can change), the picture, summary and details, and a button to the tool or to the item on What's new. The preview shows exactly what people get.

Above the preview, aiKit shows the exact number of people it goes to: only accounts that turned on Product updates, minus addresses that bounced. An Admins only post goes only to admins who turned it on. If nobody has turned it on, the send button stays off.

Nothing is sent until you press Send to N people and then Yes, send to N people. If the number changed in between, nothing is sent and the new number is shown. If email isn't switched on where you are, the dialog says so and each email is recorded as not sent. After a send, the item shows when it was emailed and how many went out.
