Music Maker: songs, jingles, and background music

Music Maker makes original music from your words. Describe a song, or tap styles (genre, mood, tempo, instruments, vocal style, era, and what it's for), pick a length, and press Make 2 songs: every click makes two versions to choose from. Songs can have AI-written lyrics, your own lyrics, or no vocals at all. You can also upload a song you own and remix it. Play your songs in the player at the bottom, download MP3 or WAV, save them to your Graphics Library, or send one to Video Kit, Motion Maker, or Voice Kit. Open it from the Tool library or at aikit.ai/tools/music-maker.

Create: describing your song

The Create tab (left) starts with Describe your song: say it the way you'd tell a musician ("a catchy summer song about road trips with friends"). While the box is empty, Ideas cards show finished starting points; tapping one fills in the description and styles for you. If you told aiKit what kind of work you do (Settings, or the "What kind of work do you do?" card in the Tool library), the first ideas are for your kind of business: a print shop jingle, a taqueria ad, a home tour bed, clinic hold music, and so on. On a phone the ideas scroll sideways.

Name a business in the lyrics (optional): type the business and a detail, like "Rise & Shine Bakery, fresh bread every morning at 6", and AI-written lyrics name it naturally, at least once in the chorus. This browser remembers what you typed for next time.

Lyrics has three choices. AI writes: the lyrics are written for you when you press Make. My lyrics: a box for your own words; section tags on their own lines, like [Verse], [Chorus], and [Bridge], shape the song. Instrumental: music only, no singing. With AI writes or My lyrics, Write lyrics now, so I can edit them writes lyrics into the box right away so you can change them first (if the box already has lyrics, the button says Improve my lyrics). The lyric writer always writes original words: it won't copy a real song's lyrics, even when asked.

Once there are lyrics in the box, a change box appears: type any change ("make it funnier", "add our phone number", "shorter chorus") and press Change the lyrics, or leave it empty and press Improve them. Shortcuts under it (Make it funnier, Shorter and catchier, Add our business name, Rhyme more, More heartfelt, Simpler words for kids) fill the box; any words work.

If your account has a Brand Voice, Write the lyrics in your Brand Voice is ticked: the lyric writer follows its tone and word choices. Untick it for a one-off.

Styles are groups of tap-on chips. Genre and Mood show first; More styles opens Tempo, Instruments, Vocal style, Era, and Use it for (a group stays open once you've picked something in it). The groups are Genre, Mood, Tempo, Instruments, Vocal style, Era, and Use it for (ad, jingle, podcast intro, video background, birthday song, wedding, workout, hold music, trailer, and more). Picked chips turn pink with a check mark and are added to your description. Genre, Mood, and Instruments take several picks; the others take one. +N more shows the rest of a group.

Length is 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1, 2, or 3 minutes. Free accounts make 30-second clips; the longer lengths show a lock.

Engines

Auto (the default) picks the engine for you: Vocal songs for songs with singing, Background beds for instrumental music. You can pick one yourself. Vocal songs: full songs with sung lyrics. Fast & bright: quick, polished tracks, with or without singing. Background beds: instrumental music made for videos, ads, and podcasts (instrumental only). Business-safe Pro: music from an engine trained on licensed music, the safest choice for commercial work; it's on paid plans and a click uses 16 credits up to 1 minute, 21 up to 2 minutes, or 31 up to 3 minutes (the Engine card shows the number for the length you picked).

Under every song, a line says what you may do with it (for example, "Commercial use allowed under the engine's terms").

If an engine is busy or out of credit when you press Make, the song moves to the next engine automatically (Vocal songs and Fast & bright stand in for each other; Business-safe Pro falls back to Vocal songs; the two remix engines stand in for each other), and a line under the song says so, for example "Vocal songs was busy, so Fast & bright made this one." You're charged for the engine that made it. If no engine can take it, nothing is charged and you're asked to try again in a few minutes. If an engine isn't connected yet, its card says "not connected yet" and pressing Make plays a sample tune made in your browser instead. The sample is labeled Sample tune everywhere, and no credits are used.

Remix a song you own

The Remix a song tab restyles a song you upload. First tick I own this song or have the rights to remix it (the upload stays locked until you do), then upload an MP3, WAV, or M4A file up to 25 MB, or press From your Library to pick a song already in your Graphics Library. Hum or sing an idea records up to 60 seconds from your microphone (hum a tune, sing a line, tap a beat; press Stop when done) and uses that as the song to remix; it's your own voice, so the rights box isn't needed. On any finished song of yours, Remix this opens the Remix tab with that song ready, no upload needed (sample tunes can't be remixed). Describe the new version ("a chill acoustic version with soft female vocals") and/or tap styles, then set How much to change it: from A little (keeps it close to the original) to A lot (makes it new).

Two remix engines: Remix with vocals can keep or change the singing; Instrumental restyle turns your song into a new instrumental style. Auto picks between them from your Lyrics choice. Remix uses the same 4 credits a click and also makes 2 versions.

Your songs, the player, and versions

Your songs (right) lists every song, newest first, each with its own colored cover. Press a cover to play it in the player at the bottom of the page; press a title to open it. While a song is being made its cover spins and the line says "Composing version 1 of 2…"; songs usually take 30 to 90 seconds, and you can keep working in the meantime. All and Liked filter the list; a search box appears once you have more than six songs.

An opened song shows a big cover (press it to play), the title (click it to rename), the engine, the length, a heart to like it, and Version 1 / Version 2 to switch between the two versions from the same click. Below is a waveform (press it to play), the style you asked for, and the lyrics (Show the lyrics opens them). Every song has its own address, so a bookmark opens it again.

The player at the bottom has play/pause, a waveform you can click to jump (or use the left and right arrow keys to move 5 seconds), the time, a volume slider, and X to close it. Click the cover in the player to open that song.

Downloads, Regenerate, Make it longer, and Send to

The first row has the main actions: Send to…, Save to Library, Send for approval, and For (pick a client or project; it's kept in the page address). Saves and sends are tagged to that client or project in your Graphics Library. Send for approval makes the song a Customer Proof (a waveform your client can play, comment on any moment of, and approve) and opens it in Customer Proofs, where you send the link; with a client picked in For, the proof is filed under that client.

The quieter row below: MP3 and WAV download the song (WAV is on paid plans). Cut for ads downloads an exact-length MP3, made in your browser and free: a 6-second bumper, a 15-, 30-, or 60-second spot (each with a clean fade at the end), or a Seamless loop (30 seconds whose end flows straight back into its start, for videos and hold music). Only the lengths the song is long enough for are listed. Regenerate makes 2 new versions with the same settings and lyrics. Make it longer makes a new, longer take (at least 2 minutes, up to 3) in the same style with the same lyrics; it's a new take, not the same recording continued. Save to Library saves the song as an MP3 to your Graphics Library, in the Music Maker folder, under Music.

Send to… saves the song to your Library and opens another tool with it: Video Kit (the music under your video, dipping while people speak), Motion Maker (your animation's music), or Voice Kit (a music bed under your next voice read; it dips while the voice speaks, and Download with music gives you one mixed file).

The ⋯ button next to the heart has Delete this version, which asks you to confirm, then removes that version for good.

6

Rating a song

Under every finished (or failed) song, a thumbs up and a thumbs down ask how it turned out. Thumbs down asks what went wrong; Send and fix it makes 2 new versions with your note added to the description.

7

Credits and what it costs

Every plan has one monthly pool of AI credits, shared by all aiKit tools. A Music Maker click uses 4 credits and makes 2 songs; the Business-safe Pro engine uses 16. The Make button always shows the cost. If a version doesn't finish, you aren't charged for it; if neither finishes, nothing is charged. Writing lyrics on their own costs a fraction of a credit.

The credits box under Your songs shows the credits left this month and about how many more song clicks that is. How credits work explains the pool. Get more songs shows the Music & Video packs (Starter to Infinite ∞, monthly or one-time) that add credits on top of a plan, usable only in Music Maker, Video Kit, Voice Kit, and Motion Maker; pack checkout opens soon, and See plans lets you move up a plan today.

Free accounts: 30-second clips, 3 song clicks a month, MP3 downloads. Full-length songs, WAV, Make it longer, and the Pro engine are on paid plans.
