The Screen Recorder (/tools/record-and-send) records your screen, your camera, or both, right in the browser, and gives you a link to send. Press Stop and the link is ready, because the video was sent to the cloud while you talked. A copy stays on your computer until the cloud confirms the whole file, so a closed tab, a sleeping computer or a dropped connection never loses a recording. Anyone with the link can watch without an account. It is open to every signed-in account. The free plan records up to 10 minutes per video and keeps 25 videos for good; paid plans record up to 2 hours per video.
Open the Screen Recorder →Press New recording. What to record has three choices: Screen + camera (your screen with you in a round bubble), Screen only, and Camera only. On a phone or tablet only Camera only can be picked, because phone browsers don't let websites record the screen; open the page on a computer to record a screen.
When the camera is part of the recording, a round preview shows how you look. Name it is optional (a name with the date is used if you leave it empty, and you can rename it later). Camera appears when you have more than one; Microphone lists your microphones. Include the sound from the tab or computer adds the shared tab's or computer's sound to your voice when the browser offers it (Chrome and Edge offer tab sound and, on Windows, the whole computer's sound). For Screen + camera, Camera bubble picks the corner (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right) and the size (Small, Medium, Large). These choices are remembered in this browser.
Start recording asks which tab, window or screen to share (and for the camera and microphone the first time). A 3, 2, 1 countdown follows; press it to start at once. The line under the button says how long you can record on your plan.
The screen shows what is being recorded, the time, and how much time is left on your plan. Pause stops the clock and the recording; Resume carries on in the same video. Stop and get the link ends it. Start over throws this take away (nothing is kept) and returns to the setup. Pressing the browser's own Stop sharing bar also stops and saves the recording.
Float the controls (Chrome and Edge on a computer) opens a small window that stays on top of your other apps, with the time, Pause and Stop, so you can record another app without coming back to this tab.
Saving as you go shows how much of the video is already in the cloud. If the connection drops, it keeps trying; nothing is lost because every second is also kept on this computer. If you try to leave the page while recording, the browser asks first. At the end of your plan's time limit the recording stops and saves on its own.
A second or two after Stop, Ready to send shows the title, the length and the link, already copied so you can paste it in an email, a chat or a text. Copy link copies it again. Watch it opens the watch page in a new tab, Download saves the video file (MP4 in Chrome, Edge and Safari; WebM in Firefox), Link settings opens who can watch, and Record another starts a new one.
If the cloud can't be reached when you stop, the recording stays on this computer: Download the video saves it now, and the next time you open the Screen Recorder a card lists it under A recording didn't finish sending with Finish sending (which sends only the parts still missing), Download and Remove.
The link opens a page with the video, its title, who sent it (their first name), the date and the length. Viewers don't need an account. Seeking works straight away, and the video plays from the cloud. Copy link and Download (when the sender allows downloads) sit under the video. Free-plan videos show a small Made with aiKit line at the bottom.
When you open your own video's link while signed in, a bar at the top says This is your video with the view count, plus Copy link, Edit and settings (the video page) and My recordings. Your own plays don't count as views.
A link set to Only me and my team asks viewers to log in with the account it belongs to. A link with a password asks for it first (a few tries, then a short wait). A link past its end date says it has expired and never shows the video.
The Screen Recorder has its own menu on the left (on a phone, press Folders and clients): New recording; All videos; Recent (the last 7 days); Folders; Clients; Trash; Help; and how many videos you have against your plan's limit. Every view has its own address, so a refresh or a shared link opens the same place.
Moving videos: drag a video card (or several selected ones) onto a folder in the left menu, onto a folder tile, or onto All videos to take it out of folders; the spot lights up where it will land. Or press Move on the card (or Move to folder in its ⋯ menu), pick a folder, or press + New folder to make one and move the video straight into it. Folders: press + next to Folders (or New folder above the videos) and name it. Folders can hold folders: open one and press Folder inside, or use its ⋯ menu in the left menu (hover the folder) to rename it, put it inside another folder, make a folder inside, or delete it. Deleting a folder never deletes videos: they move up a level. Inside a folder, Record into this folder saves the next recording there, and the path at the top (All videos › Client walkthroughs › Quotes) goes back up.
Clients: a video's ⋯ menu → Set client files it under one of your aiKit clients (the same list as Clients in the main menu). Clients with videos show in the left menu; open one to see only that client's videos, and Record for that client tags the next recording. In the Share window, the video's client is offered first when you email it.
Each video card shows its picture with a Play button (press it to watch right here), the length, the date and time it was recorded, the number of views, the start of its summary, its folder and client, and any lock (password, team only, end date). Share, Copy link and Move are on every card, and the title opens the video page (its notes and Clean it up). The ⋯ menu has Play, Share, Open notes and editing, Move to folder, Set client, Rename, Link settings, Download and Move to Trash.
Search finds videos by title and summary in the view you're in. Sort orders them by Newest, Oldest, Most viewed, Longest or Name. The two buttons beside it show videos as a grid or a list (remembered on this computer). Tick the box on a card's corner to select it; with videos selected, a bar offers Move to folder, Set client and Move to Trash for all of them, plus Select all.
Trash: videos in Trash can't be watched (their link stops working) and are deleted for good after 30 days. A video's ⋯ menu in Trash has Restore and Delete for good. Videos in Trash still count toward the free plan's 25.
Link settings (in the ⋯ menu, on the video page, or from the Share window's Change who can watch): Title; Who can watch (Anyone with the link, which is not listed or searchable, or Only me and my team, signed in); Needs a password (4 or more characters; leave it empty later to keep the current one); Link stops working after (a date, or No end date); and Viewers can download the video. More shows the link, Make a new link (the old link stops working at once) and Move to Trash.
When you press Stop, a small sound-only copy kept during the recording is written down as words (only the sound is sent, never the picture), and the AI writes a title, a summary, key points, chapters and What to do next, a to-do list of anything asked or agreed in the video. A recording named automatically (Recording and the date) takes the AI's title. The Ready to send card shows the progress, then the summary. If the summary step stops (for example you close the tab), open the recording and press Make the summary; it reads the sound from the saved video.
On the video page and the watch page, the notes sit beside the video in three tabs: Summary (with Key points and What to do next; Copy the list copies the to-dos), Chapters (press one to jump there; the one playing is highlighted) and Transcript (every line with its time; press the time to jump; a search box appears on longer recordings). Captions are on the video for everyone (the CC button). Download captions (.vtt) saves them for YouTube or other players.
The thumbs under the notes rate them (thumbs down asks what went wrong, and Send and fix it makes the notes again with your words). Change the notes in your words takes any request, for example a shorter summary, list the prices I mention, write it in Spanish, or add a to-do for the follow-up call. The notes are made again from what was said, never invented. No speech in a recording means no notes, and the page says so.
On the video page, Clean it up lists the long pauses and the ums and uhs found in what was said, each with its time (press the time to hear it). Remove pauses and Remove ums tick them all; tick or untick any one. Start at and End at trim the beginning and the end (type the seconds, or play to the spot and press Use the player's time). Save shows how many seconds shorter the video gets.
Cuts are skipped as the video plays, on your link and on the video page, so viewers see the cleaned-up version right away; the transcript shows cut lines crossed out. The download stays the full original recording. Undo all clean-up brings the whole recording back.
Free: up to 10 minutes per video and 25 videos, kept for good (they don't use your Hub storage). Paid plans: up to 2 hours per video. Recordings are about 15 to 20 MB per minute.
Coming in the next rounds, and not built yet: saving to Google Drive and Dropbox; a cleaned-up download file; translated captions; comments and reactions at a moment or on the frame; reply with a video; full viewer details and alerts; your branding and a button on the watch page; sending to a Hub card; asking the video a question; turning a recording into a how-to doc or slides.
