Abandoned cart email

An abandoned cart email reminds a shopper about items they left in an online cart, usually with a photo of the items and a link back to check out.

An abandoned cart email goes to a shopper who added products to an online cart but left without buying. It usually shows the items they picked, a short friendly reminder and a button straight back to the cart. Stores often send a short series: one within a few hours, and another a day or two later.

A large share of online carts are left behind, often because the shopper got distracted rather than changed their mind. A well-timed, helpful reminder brings some of those sales back, which makes it one of the most valuable emails an online store can set up.

Imagine a tea shop called Copper Kettle Teas. A customer leaves a sampler box and a mug in the cart. The next morning a reminder arrives with photos of both, a note about the shop's freshness guarantee and a Finish your order button.

In aiKit, Email Studio has a built-in abandoned cart layout, along with welcome, promo, newsletter, review ask and win-back layouts, filled with your real products. aiKit designs the email; the timing and sending are set up in your email platform, since aiKit never sends marketing email itself.
