Brand voice is how a business sounds. Two companies can say the same thing, that they are open late on Fridays, in very different ways: one warm and chatty, another short and professional. A defined voice spells out that personality with a tone, words to use and avoid, and examples.
A clear voice makes a business recognizable and trustworthy, especially when several people, or AI tools, write for it. Without one, the website sounds formal, the emails sound casual and the social posts sound like someone else entirely.
Say a plant nursery called Greenhaven Gardens wants every post to sound like its owner: cheerful, practical and never pushy. It writes down that mix, adds a few of her best old emails as samples, and new posts follow the same voice.
In aiKit, Brand Kit sets the voice once with a weighted tone mix (say Friendly 70%, Expert 30%), different mixes per channel, writing samples and rules, plus a checker that scores any text from 0 to 100. Content Kit, Writing Pack, Email Studio and Voice Kit write in that voice.
