AI tokens (AI allowance)

AI tokens are the units a platform uses to count AI work, drawn from an allowance each time a tool writes, designs or generates something.

Many AI platforms count AI work in tokens or credits. Each time a tool writes a draft, makes a picture, generates a video clip or reads a script aloud, it uses some tokens from an allowance that renews on a schedule. Bigger jobs, like a long video clip or a high-detail image, use more than a quick edit.

Knowing how tokens work helps you plan. A clear meter and a cost shown before an expensive job prevent surprises, and tools that run some features on your own device can save your allowance for the jobs that need it.

Say a marketing agency called Tall Pines Creative makes product photos, voice-overs and short clips for several clients each month. Watching the balance, it saves its high-detail video clips for the final cut and drafts on cheaper settings first.

In aiKit, every tool that uses AI draws from one monthly token balance on your account, shown as a chip in the top bar, and tokens renew once a month on your own day. Hosting, storage and everyday clicks never use tokens, and tools like Scene Studio and Photo Studio show the cost before you press Make.
