Site Plan

A website plan that reads like a proposal and stays true

Every aiKit website gets a professional website project plan: goals, audience, strategy, sitemap, every tool explained, timeline and open questions. It's measured against the real site after each change, with a Make it button on every build step and a private link for your client.

A new Site Plan: overview and goals, strategy, modules and tools, and open questions, filled in from the brief when the plan is written

What you get

A professional plan for websites, admin systems and their modules.

A plan you can hand a client

Overview and goals with how each is measured, audience, strategy, a sitemap of every page with its job, every tool with what it does for the business, a content plan, a timeline in phases, decisions and open questions.

It never claims what isn't built

Pages count as built only when aiKit finds them in the site's real files, and tools only from the verified build report. A Planned, Built or Live status on each item tells you where it stands.

A Make it button on every build step

Build steps list everything in order. Make it opens the right aiKit tool already filled in from the plan, from the Assistant for a missing page to Hosting for going live. Steps check themselves off when aiKit sees the result.

A health score with one-click fixes

The site is scored out of 100 from rules checked in its files: missing titles and descriptions, broken links, pages nothing links to, pictures without descriptions, forms with nowhere to send. Each issue has a Fix button.

Your client sees it, minus the internals

Share a private plan link protected by the client's access code. Health, history, who asked for what and any line you mark internal are removed on the server before the page is sent. Clients can approve each page.

What uses AI, and what’s free

Opening and reading the plan never uses AI, and the measured parts (pages, tools and their status, and the health score) are read from the real site. Write the plan and Update the plan draft the strategy parts with AI, which counts toward that website's AI use.

Works with your other aiKit tools

Keep Site Plan in any of your kits, next to the tools you use with it. One account and one monthly AI allowance cover every tool.

How it works

From first click to finished, in 4 steps.

  1. Start a website

The plan comes with every aiKit website. It's written from the brief, the client's answers and the measured site after the first build.

  2. Read and edit the plan

Open the Plan & brief tab. Edit any section's text directly, or use Ask for a change to file a request that updates the site and, in turn, the plan.

  3. Build from the steps

Press Make it on each build step. The right tool opens filled in, and nothing runs until you press Send or Save there.

  4. Share it and keep it current

Copy the client link, download the plan file, and let it update after every change. If it falls behind, the screen says why and offers Refresh plan.

Who it’s for

How different businesses use Site Plan

Marketing & agencies

A proposal-grade plan for every client

An invented agency sends each new client the plan link before launch, walks through the sitemap and timeline on a call, and collects page-by-page approvals in the same place.

Trades & service businesses

Seeing what's done and what's next

A made-up landscaping company checks the progress band to see pages built, tools built and questions answered, then presses Make it on the next step: a Book online page.

Real estate

Handing a site to a teammate

A fictional brokerage hands its agent site to a new assistant with one link instead of a long email: every page's purpose, the brand notes, and the decisions not to revisit.

Education & training

Keeping a school site honest

An invented training center uses the Health card to find pages with no main heading and pictures without descriptions, and presses Fix on each one.

Ideal for

  • Walking a client through their site before launch
  • Agencies that want every client to get a plan that reads like a proposal
  • Handing a site to a teammate without a long email

Good to know

  • Not for: Editing the site; changes are made by asking on the project, and the plan follows
  • The plan reads what aiKit measures. If a change was made outside aiKit, the plan shows it after the next aiKit change.
  • Strategy text is written by aiKit from the brief; read it before you share it.

Questions

Site Plan: questions people ask

How do I make a website project plan with a sitemap for a client?
aiKit's Site Plan writes one for every website you build. It covers overview and goals with how each is measured, audience, strategy with search phrases, a sitemap of every page with its job, every tool with what it does for the business, a content plan, a timeline in phases, decisions and open questions. Opening it never uses AI; press Write the plan to draft the strategy parts and Update the plan after the brief or site changes. Share it with the client at a private link, or download the plan file.
Is there a website plan that updates itself when the site changes?
Yes. aiKit's Site Plan has two layers. The measurements, meaning pages, titles, sections, links, forms, tools and health, are taken by code from the site's real files after every change, so they don't drift. The written parts, such as goals, business facts, brand and decisions, are kept current by an AI pass that rewrites only what the change touched. If that pass doesn't finish, the plan is left as it was, and the screen says so with a Refresh plan button rather than quietly showing an out-of-date plan.
How can I show a client what's built and what's still planned on their website?
Share aiKit's Site Plan. Every page and tool carries a Planned, Built or Live status, and a progress band shows pages built, tools built and questions answered. None of it is self-reported: a page counts as built only when aiKit finds it in the site's files. The client's link is protected by the same access code they use for feedback, and it shows their sitemap, pages with View links, tools, decisions and open questions, without health issues, change history or anything you mark internal.
Can clients approve a website page by page?
Yes, on aiKit's Site Plan client link. Each built page has an Approve button: the client types their name and an optional note. The approval is tied to that page's exact content, so if the page changes later it shows Changed since you approved and asks again. Only someone using the client's access code can approve, so nobody on your team approves on the client's behalf. On your side, approved pages show Client approved, and changed ones show Changed since approval.
How do I turn a website plan into actual work?
Use Build steps, the first section of aiKit's Site Plan. It lists everything on the plan in the order to make it, and each step has a Make it button that opens the right aiKit tool already filled in. A missing page or tool opens the Assistant with the request written out, an admin system or client portal opens the planner, the brand voice opens Brand Voice, blog posts open Content Kit, and going live opens Hosting. Nothing runs until you press Send or Save, and steps check themselves off when aiKit sees the result.
How do I check my website for SEO and accessibility problems?
Open the Health card on an aiKit website's Site Plan. It scores the site out of 100 from rules checked in the real files, never from the AI's opinion: missing or repeated page titles and search descriptions, pages with no main heading or several, links to pages that don't exist, pages nothing links to, pictures without descriptions for screen readers, very short pages, forms with nowhere to send, and missing tools the brief asked for. Each issue names the page and why it matters, and Fix sends the fix to the AI.
Can I keep internal notes in a plan I share with my client?
Yes. On aiKit's Site Plan, mark anything for your team only and it's removed on the server before the client's page is sent, so it never reaches their browser, not even in the page's network data. That covers any line containing (internal), [internal] or (staff only), any line starting with Internal: or Staff only:, any section headed Internal or Staff only, and hidden comments. The client also never sees health issues, fix instructions, history, who asked for what, or the file list.
Does a site I built somewhere else get a site plan too?
Yes. When a site comes into aiKit without a plan, whether it was published from another AI tool, imported or uploaded, the Site Plan starts one from the project brief, the tools picked from the Kit, and the pages aiKit measures. A banner says This plan was started for you and offers Save this plan, which makes it the project's real plan so every section can be edited. From then on it stays current after every change like any other aiKit plan.
Can I see every past version of a website and what changed?
Yes. The History section on aiKit's Site Plan lists the versions aiKit keeps, newest first: what kind of change it was (first build, chat, pin, kit, publish, restore or plan edit), when, what was asked, who asked, and which pages changed. Press a page to open its details. Any older version has Restore this version, which saves the current state first, so a restore can be undone. Press any page in the sitemap to see how it looks in search, its headings, word count, forms and last change.
Where can I see an example of a website plan?
Open the Tool library in aiKit and choose Site Plan. Its page shows the plan every new website starts with, in the same layout your projects get, and Example result opens a finished plan for an invented landscaping company. Show the whole example reads all of it, along with how the plan works and who it's for. If you already have projects, pick one at the top of that page and press Open its site plan to go straight to that project's plan.
